Rare & very large 18th Century George III statuary white marble fire surround, the legs and frieze are inset with book-matched panels of Sicilian jasper. The legs terminate with beautiful corbels carved with acanthus and anthemion detail, and the frieze is decorated with finely worked scrolling acanthus carving. In the manner of Sir Henry Cheere. Circa 1780.

Pictured with its original large cast iron register grate offering an enormous 24″ wide fire grate. Alos photographed with a 19th-century brass and iron fire grate. Both are sold separately.
