A large and unusual 19th Century Victorian cast iron and tiled fireplace grate

Stock Number: 1-1282

A large and unusual 19th Century Victorian cast iron and tiled fireplace grate. Unusual because it is totally flat, rather than the typical insert with where the tiles are chamfered inwards. This insert is complete with a wonderful set of seven original blue and white fireplace tiles designed around Aesop’s fables.

The cast iron has been finished with traditional black grate polish and is ready for a solid fuel fire. Supplied with a new clay fireback and cast iron stool grate. We can also supply a living flame gas fire for this grate, please enquire.
