Antique cast iron Edwardian Art Nouveau combination fireplace with horses from the Camargue

Stock Number: 5-1196

Large and unusual antique cast iron Edwardian Art Nouveau combination fireplace with a finely cast panel to the frieze, with what is believe to be a representation of the Horses of the Camargue galloping through water with the sun breaking through cloud. This panel is flanked by equally well cast tapering flower pods suspended from elaborate ribbons. This fireplaces also benefits from a sliding blower to aid the draw of the fire when first lit. We currently have 5 of these fireplaces available at the moment.
The Camargue horse is indigenous to the Camargue region of Southern France and is considered to be one of the oldest breeds of horses in the world. They have lived wild in the Rhone delta for hundreds of years hence the spray of water around their legs in this depiction.
