Antique Victorian cast iron dog grate produced by Thomas Elsley Ltd of Portland Metal Works, Great Titchfield Street, London, UK Great Portland Street, London, in the late 19th century. The Initials C R stand for Charles Rex (King Charles, most likely Charles I) and depicts the king on horseback. Complete with removable ash pan drawer.
