Rare Burmantofts architectural tile block. The central tile panel is in high relief showing a cherubs head and wings below a large unadorned cartouche. This panel is flanked by two laddered edge tiles.
Overall 39 cm wide x 42 cm high x 23 cm deep
This tile block was once part of a massive fireplace /grill in the Royal cafe that was in the basement of the African chambers, in Liverpool, England. All of the walls and pillars were Burmantofts tiles too. See the archive images we have uncovered.
The tile has some small chips, surface wear, and remnants of cement on the sides, but on the whole is in very good condition. There may be wear which may not always be evident from the pictures or included in the description. Full condition reports and more images are available on request.
