Rare pair of antique 19th century Copeland tile panels

A beautiful and rare pair of late 19th century tile panels, produced by Copeland. Handpainted in blue, and yellow and brown on a white ground with a falconer in a medieval dress releasing the bird from his gloved hand with a dog at his feet. The other panel is painted with his female companion holding the lure above her head. Circa 1880.

Each panel is made up of four 8-inch tiles.

The condition is good with only a few small chips shown in the photos. There are no breaks or repairs. The combed reverse is clean and stamped Copeland.
