A spectacular large antique early Victorian chimneypiece in ivory white statuary marble. The intricately carved frieze in high relief shows a long grape vine in fruit being held by a spread eagle, which sits above equally well carved spandrels, and is flanked by two long carved corbels depicting male(left)and female (right) flemish heads decorated with festoons and further flowers trailing down each leg. Circa 1840. Images prior to restoration.
