Large ornate 19th Century Victorian cast iron fireplace called ‘The Arts’. The frieze is decorated with an eagle, wings spread perched atop of the globe flanked by oak branches with leaves and acorns. To the capital passion flowers and the jamb faces are decorated with symbols of the arts entwined with laurel leaves, to include a quill, scroll of music, horn, flute, a paint palette and brushed to list a few. All in brilliant casting and relief. Circa 1885.
Fully restored and finished with traditional black grate polish and supplied with a new clay fireback and cast iron bottom grate.
