An arched Victorian fireplace surround of good proportions in Carrara marble. The squared edge mantle sits above a plain keystone. The spandrels carved with a four point star within a ring where the Carrara has bush hammered leaving a textured almost leathered look. Circa 1860.
We currently have a pair of these surrounds available.

All our fireplaces are genuine antiques and may show expected signs of age and use. Marble surrounds such as this were originally set into the plaster so the back edge of the shelf and legs have never been finished smooth as they are hidden in the plaster. Our in-house restoration team sympathetically restore each fireplace using a blend of traditional and modern techniques to maintain its authentic appearance. If you would like to discuss any of our fireplaces in more detail or would like additional photos, please don’t hesitate to ask.
