Antique Victorian cast iron grate produced in the 4th quarter of the 19th century. This style of grate was designed to accommodate two precast tile panels either side to give a complete size of between 36-40″ wide x 38″high, depending on the angle of the tile panels. But it can equally be used without the tile panels in smaller surrounds. The size of the cast iron grate alone is 61.5cm wide x 95.5cm high.
The cast iron grate has been finished with traditional black grate polish.
